Latest Japanese Fashion Magazine Find: Jelly

My latest Japanese fashion magazine find has been ero-kawaii Jelly. Can I say, I just love that name? Jelly, jelly, jelly. It's a fun word to say out loud. I picked it up on a whim at Kinokuniya and love the fashion spreads. Sexier then CanCan and Non-NonJelly is the editorial equivalent of Mean Girls to the rest of the J-Fashion pack. Cheeky, fierce, and full of attitude, the Jelly girls are confident in what they wear. Which, judging from their December edition, is short skirts, boots, and chunky knits. Doesn't it snow in Japan? Oh well, suffer for fashion it is then. They even contained a cute lingerie spread (Victoria's Secret Pink type). With their winter wear edition for December, it almost *almost* made me want to wear uggs. Imps and Monsters

Imps and Monsters
If you want some devious cheer, look no further then the characters featured in Imps and Monsters, artist Justin Hillgrove's creations. At Seattle's Urban Craft Uprising, I bumped into his booth, flipped through his prints, and wanted to snatch'em all home with me. Doesn't it appeal to your inner child? With prints ranging $25 and below, its definitely budget-friendly.

Holiday dilemmas

Oh, dilmma, dilemma, dilemma. I'm finding myself flying solo during the Christmas holidays.
What recommended activities do you suggest for someone spending the holidays alone? Books, video rentals, etc. I suppose I can sketch a giant crossword puzzle like Miss Lulu here...

Let it snow, let it snow

sewing corner plus

No doubt, you want to make your place look festive but you don't relish dishing out the bucks to buy the holiday wreaths, bows, and razzmatazz? Flashback to grade school! Who doesn't love the beautiful simplicity of white paper snowflakes? The paper snowflake posted here would do Martha Steweart proud.  Easy, affordable, and abundant, the snowflakes would look gorgeous spread around one's apartment. In fact, the New York Times got into the frugal spirit in their style section: the story, We're Going to Party Like It's 1929, deals with budget decorating for holiday parties...and guess what gets a gorgeous treatment?
